Innovation and Commercialization Center – Eastern Region
EKU BTC 041 Richmond, KY 40475
The Eastern Region Innovation and Commercialization Center (ICC) program serves 46 counties of eastern Kentucky and includes Innovation Centers (ICs) in Ashland and West Liberty/Paintsville. The Eastern ICC is located at EKU under the CEDET office of the College of Business & Technology and is funded by the Kentucky Office of Commercialization and Innovation and administered through KSTC.
The ICC seeks to develop, grow and retain knowledge-based, technology and high- growth potential companies and clients. The network deploys a best-in-class commercialization process that provides a proven roadmap for moving entrepreneurs from technological idea to commercial success.
The ICC works with the client to craft a custom work plan for accomplishing milestones and achieving the desired result – creating a high growth organization that is venture ready. Through a set of detailed steps the entrepreneurs refine their business concept, feasibility assessment, financials, business plan and strategies, investor presentation and valuation. This detailed framework creates a professional business package which potential investors can use to quickly and easily assess their level of interest.
Part of the process is matching business needs with technical resources, qualified service providers and partners as applicable to assure successful high-performance businesses.
Qualified clients can apply for a series of state and private sector funding, angel or venture investment and traditional financing.
